ClawBands is a security middleware layer for OpenClaw agents that intercepts tool calls before they execute and enforces human approval for anything deemed risky. It hooks into OpenClaw's before_tool_call event and evaluates each action against configurable policies with three possible outcomes: allow immediately, pause and ask for approval, or deny outright. Approval requests can surface as terminal prompts or as YES/NO messages through WhatsApp or Telegram, keeping the human in the loop without requiring them to babysit a dashboard.
Developers deploying OpenClaw agents with access to production systems, sensitive files, or external APIs, where the cost of an unchecked agent action is high enough that a human approval gate is worth the latency.
